The card shows your score and gap, never your salary.
We use the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (May 2025): pay percentiles for 830 occupations, nationally and in every state.
We start from the pay distribution for your job in your state. Experience moves your expected spot within it, from around the 25th percentile for new hires to the 70th for 15+ years.
Your pay score is your total pay divided by the midpoint for your profile, times 100. The gap is the distance from your pay to the middle and top of your range.
It is an estimate, not a verdict. Pay also depends on company size, industry, city, skills and performance, which the survey does not capture for individuals. Treat the result as a starting point for research and conversation.
